To Middle Eastern people, Blinken, the fireman, looks more like the fireman's assistant. His or any recent US secretary of state's efforts have been thwarted by Washington's 5 policy "tactics" on the Israel-Palestine conflict and the region: deception, denial, dishonesty, distortion and diversion. All were on full display during Blinken's tour.
For 100 days now, Israel's ongoing genocidal war on Gaza has pushed the Middle East into new orbits of death, destruction and ever-growing fears of greater chaos to follow. The past 10 days have brought us yet another recurring spectacle from the modern legacy of Arab-Israeli conflict: a regional tour by the United States Secretary of State to "calm things down."
While touring the region, Antony Blinken said he had four goals:
reduce the drumbeat of a nearby regional fire,
to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza as Palestinians languish under Israeli hunger siege,
reduce the number of Palestinians killed and injured by Israel's daily genocidal bombing raids and
to explore how political agreements after the cessation of hostilities can start negotiations for a stable and peaceful region.
This sounds noble and sensible - perhaps for the man in the moon. Few people on Earth who follow the Middle East and know its modern history believe in the stated intentions of the US. The crippling problem with Blinken's efforts and the way the US mainstream media covers them is that almost every statement or goal he utters is contradicted by the impact of current US policies in the Middle East, and any danger he seeks to limit is usually caused by from US militarism in the region.

Deluzion describes well how the US projects its image as a selfless foreign power that comes to bring peace and brotherhood to the Middle East region, all while inciting and prolonging violence and conflict.
The US has contributed greatly to the region's rampant warfare, increasing the state's poverty and fragility by conducting military operations and maintaining a military presence there; using sanctions and threats against indigenous powers that challenge it; supporting Israeli settler colonialism, which has now devolved into a genocidal spree in Gaza and the West Bank; and the strengthening of Arab autocrats who have immunized the Arab people against democracy and human rights.

The distortion nicely describes how the US says its recent military build-up in the region is aimed at preventing the war in Gaza from expanding and Iran and Hezbollah from threatening Israel – while US militarism since the 1950s has largely maintained a frozen regional order of Cold War at will. .
This has allowed Israel to do whatever it wants; kept most autocratic Arab governments dependent on US security and economic aid to survive; and suppressed democratic aspirations and movements for socio-economic justice in Arab states.
This context is usually missing from US media reporting, where the US is instead presented as striking a "delicate balance" in the Middle East and seeking "regional security".
The diversion describes well how the Biden administration reacts to accusations around the world and by American citizens that it ignores the Israeli genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, as well as America's own complicity in this most serious crime. US officials sleepily repeat that Israel has a right to defend itself, showing that Washington does not take international law, UN conventions or resolutions seriously.
The Biden administration tries to divert public attention from Israel's ongoing atrocities and apartheid by stressing that it believes many Palestinian civilians have died and that it is working to allow more humanitarian aid to reach Gaza, but in fact the flows of aid has only symbolically increased, the average number of Palestinians killed or injured each day has actually increased recently, famine has struck the Gaza Strip, and the use of US weapons by Israel to destroy schools, hospitals, homes and facilities other vital aspects of Gaza continue unchecked.
And yet US media regularly report that Israel's actions are "testing" the US administration's support for its war and that "there is not much time left". However, we have seen no evidence of any change of course: the US stands firmly by its genocidal ally.
The 5 "tactics" have long camouflaged the realities and deceived the world through the complicity of the mainstream media and dishonest or confused officials. They now wither because the truths of US-Israeli policies are out in the open in Palestine and the International Court of Justice - or hastily buried underground, wrapped in tiny blankets around the thousands of babies and children whose tragic deaths confirm the reality.
