The Parliament of Norway was threatened with a bomb today. Local police have taken action and increased security around the building, blocking the surrounding streets.
Participants in the public hearings were asked to leave, while members of parliament continued their work as normal, including question time for ministers, a parliament spokesman said, foreign media reported.
A police spokesman said: “We are on site with several patrols to secure Parliament and prevent any incidents. We have no information so far about any threats to third parties.”
Armed police deployed metal bars to block the entrance to the building, which is located in central Oslo, where security measures are usually tighter.
In Norway, police officers usually do not carry guns.
