An unusual event happened to us in Italy, after a lion came out of the zoo alerting the residents on the streets of Ladispoli. Carabinieri, traffic police, law enforcement officers and some veterinarians armed with rifles filled with tranquilizer bullets, have tried for over 5 hours to neutralize the lion.
The first attempt to catch him happened around 15:00 between viale Mediterraneo and via Nicosia, not far from the "Rony Roller" circus, from where the cat had left. But the animal managed to escape. Although the vets and policemen chased him, they failed to shoot him. And so, at 8:30 p.m., the lion disappeared again. The mayor of the town asked the residents not to leave the house.
A helicopter also took off, but it was still not stopped. The lion has even been seen in residential areas. According to local media, the lion was limping and did not seem interested in attacking people due to fatigue. The police are waiting for the arrival from Rome of a veterinarian specialized for this type of animal, which must be neutralized with tranquilizers.
