"Free America" events in protest of President Donald Trump's administration will be held across the country throughout the July 4th weekend.
The events come after nationwide protests against the Trump administration and its policies, organized by the 50501 Movement (50 protests, 50 states, one movement) and other groups since he returned to office in January.
Millions of people took to the streets for the "No Kings" protests on June 14, targeting Trump's military parade marking the 250th anniversary of the Army that coincided with his 79th birthday.

"Free America Weekend" is being organized by the Women's March, which launched in 2017 as a group of women angry about Trump's 2016 presidential victory.
The Women's March is urging people to organize or join them over the holiday weekend.
"This July 4th, as the United States marks Independence Day, we will gather across the country in city squares, courtyards, and streets to defend true freedom and build a vision of a Free America brick by brick," the Women's March says on its website.
The following emphasizes "Free America is wherever we are. Free America is whatever we do. Organize or join a July 4th action for Free America, rallies, barbecues, marches, art builds, community block parties and more to celebrate true freedom."
At least 170 "Free America" events are planned for the holiday weekend in multiple states, including several in New York, California, Texas and Florida, according to the Women's March.
The Women's March wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on June 28: "Protest is the patriotic way to spend July 4th; it's at the heart of Independence Day and paves the way for us to move forward! If you're hosting a neighborhood party or barbeque this July 4th, help us defend democracy with joyful resistance!"
In addition to the "Free America" events, several local branches of Indivisible have planned "No Kings 2.0" protests for July 4th.
