Two days after the United States caved in to Ukraine's persistent pleas and promised to approve the delivery of F-16 jets to the embattled country, pilot training has begun in Kiev.
The news was announced by the Minister of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, clarifying that six months of training is considered the minimum required by the Westerners.
"It is not yet known how long it will take to train engineers and mechanics," Reznikov said in a television interview for Channel 24.
He further added that he would not give details about where and when the training will take place.
"To create reasonable expectations, set a minimum of six months in your mind, but don't be disappointed if it takes longer," said Reznikov.
