Singapore falls, here's who has the most powerful passport in the world and

British consultancy Henley & Partners has published its latest report on the world's "most powerful" passports for 2025, based on the number of countries its citizens can visit without a visa. The United Arab Emirates passport tops the list, offering visa-free or visa-on-entry access to over 180 countries. Spain comes in second, while Singapore takes third place. France, Germany, Belgium and Finland share fourth place, confirming the strength of European Union passports.

Albania with significant improvement

According to this report, the Albanian passport is positioned in 44th place, increasing by several ranks compared to previous years. This improvement is closely related to international agreements signed in recent years, which have facilitated the travel of Albanian citizens, especially to countries in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

Currently, Albanian citizens can travel visa-free or with a visa on entry to over 120 countries, including most Balkan countries, most of Europe, as well as important tourist and economic destinations across the globe.

Economic and diplomatic importance

Experts emphasize that increasing the power of the Albanian passport is not simply a matter of practical travel, but also an indicator of the country's international credibility and economic development. A more powerful passport encourages the free movement of business, tourism and investment, directly contributing to economic growth.

However, compared to countries in the region, Albania still has some way to go. The passports of countries such as Croatia, Greece and Italy rank much higher, reflecting their deeper integration into international structures and diplomatic relations.

The Henley & Partners report also shows an interesting shift in global balances: the United Arab Emirates has made a rapid rise in the list thanks to numerous diplomatic agreements, ranking ahead of traditional countries such as Japan or the US.
