Pakistan has expressed its willingness to host possible talks between Iran and the United States, at a time when tensions between the two countries remain high and official statements continue to be contradictory.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Hussain Andrabi stated that Islamabad is open to organizing a dialogue table if both sides agree.
"Pakistan is always willing to hold talks ," he told CNN.
The offer comes just hours after Iran dismissed claims it had opened a diplomatic channel with the US over the weekend. The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed that there had been "no dialogue" with Washington, according to state media.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump stated that talks between the two countries have taken place and have even produced a 15-point agreement, further deepening the uncertainties about the situation.
Meanwhile, diplomatic sources indicate that communication between Tehran and Washington has continued mainly indirectly, through third countries such as Turkey and Egypt, in an effort to reduce tensions in the region.
The developments come at a critical moment, as US-Israeli attacks on Iran have entered their fourth week, heightening the need for a diplomatic solution and avoiding further escalation.
