Pakistan is still trying to mediate between Iran and the US, even though peace talks are currently stalled. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has told his cabinet that there are mountains of problems ahead, referring to rising petrol prices, but added that they will be resolved soon.
He stated that efforts to achieve a lasting peace were still ongoing and there would be no let-up in them.
Recall that Pakistan, which has good relations with the US and Iran, has been a key mediator in talks between the two countries.
Donald Trump had canceled his envoys' visit to Pakistan for direct talks with Iran last weekend, saying the Iranians had not offered enough.
