Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that Ukrainian officials will hold talks with American partners in Saudi Arabia next week about ending the war with Russia.
While the Ukrainian president suggested that he will not be part of the discussions, he said that the Ukrainian team will include:
Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak
Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha
Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov
Colonel Pavlo Palisa
"For our part, we are fully committed to constructive dialogue and hope to discuss and agree on the necessary decisions and steps," Zelenskyy added.
It follows talks between US and Russian officials in Saudi Arabia last month, which were attended by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, national security adviser Mike Waltz and special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
Also present were Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Vladimir Putin's foreign policy advisor, Yuri Ushakov.
