The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they will continue to target any individual or group deemed a threat to the state's security, including Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.
In a statement to the media on Tuesday, military spokeswoman Effie Defrin said the IDF has no information on the whereabouts or current condition of Khamenei, who has not appeared publicly since his appointment. However, she stressed that Israel will continue operations against any perceived threat.
"We will continue to pursue anyone who poses a threat to the state of Israel. Anyone who raises a hand against us is not immune. We will pursue him, find him, and neutralize him," Defrin said.
He also added that members of the Iranian paramilitary Basij forces will also remain targeted, stressing that the operations will be conducted without time or geographical restrictions.
Earlier in the day, the IDF announced that it had killed the commander of these forces, Gholamreza Soleimani.
According to the Israeli military, the country is preparing for a prolonged military campaign, which is expected to continue during the Jewish holiday of Passover, which this year falls in early April.
