Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, who does Putin prefer?

Vladimir Putin has revealed who he wants to win the US presidential election in November.

Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum, he said Democrat Kamala Harris was Russia's preferred choice.

It may come as a surprise as he has previously appeared friendly with Donald Trump, the Republican nominee and former US president.

But earlier this year, when Biden was still the Democratic nominee, Putin said he preferred Trump because Biden was a more predictable politician.

While today he said that Russia will support Harris. He has also criticized France's arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov.

Putin said he does not understand why France has taken legal action against the Russian-born social media founder.
