Window of hope from Vance: Progress in talks with Iran
J.D. Vance

United States Vice President JD Vance said Washington is making progress in talks with Iran, but stressed that President Donald Trump will not approve any deal without full guarantees that Tehran will not obtain nuclear weapons.

In statements to reporters at the White House, Vance said he had held consultations with special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner regarding the progress of the negotiations.

" I believe we are making progress. The key question is: are we making enough progress to meet the President's red line? " Vance declared.

" And the red line is very simple. The president must be sure that we have established a series of absolute and indisputable guarantees that Iran will never obtain a nuclear weapon ," he added.

The US vice president's statements come at a time of high tensions in the Middle East and intense negotiations between Washington and Tehran over the Iranian nuclear program.

At the same time, an Iranian official claimed that the United States presented direct demands during talks held in Islamabad.

Mahmoud Nabavian, a member of the Iranian negotiating team, stated that the US had two main demands: the full opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the removal from Iran of all uranium material enriched to the 60% level.
