The leaders of the European Union, the United Kingdom and the Secretary General of NATO will meet on February 3 in Belgium, for an extraordinary meeting dedicated to European defense, as announced by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa.
This session, with the participation of Mark Rutte, will be held two weeks after the new President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, takes office.
The position that the next American administration will take in terms of supporting Ukraine, in the war with Russia, is a matter of great concern for the Europeans and NATO.
"I believe we share the same concerns about the threats facing Europe," Costa said in the letter to the leaders, referring to the war in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.
The meeting will be held in Pyrgos Limon, which is located about 20 kilometers from Liege.
