Italian authorities have found clues that could lead to finding the body of Francesca Deidda, the 42-year-old who has been missing since May and is suspected to have been killed by her husband, Igor Sollai.
Traces of her have been found in the area between Sinnai and San Vito, at the point where her phone was last located. Not far from the bridge, Franceska's clothes and personal belongings were found.
The area has been cordoned off and a search has been launched to find her body. The husband, 43-year-old Igor Sollai, was arrested on charges of aggravated murder and concealment of the corpse.
Francesca Deidda has been missing since May and according to the Prosecution, she was killed by her husband.
On Tuesday, the 42-year-old's brother, Andrea, made an appeal through social networks for his brother-in-law, asking him to tell the truth and not deny the evidence.
Sollai has not admitted the crime claiming that he is innocent. He claims that his wife left voluntarily: "She wanted to have a period of reflection," Sollai told investigators.
Among the elements that brought suspicion to the truck driver were the inconsistencies in his statements, but also the risk of escape.
He has relatives in the Netherlands and recently had repeated contact with them.
The 43-year-old already had a relationship with another woman and wanted to separate from his wife, but was afraid he would lose his properties, including the house in San Sperate, which he shared with Francesca.
