Egypt announced that the Rafah border point open to the Gaza Strip has not been closed, but Israel prevents the entry of aid, reports Anadolu.
The spokesman of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated that the perception that the Rafah border point is kept closed is not true.
"The Rafah border crossing has never been closed since the beginning of the crisis in the Gaza Strip. The Rafah border crossing is open. Those who prevent aid from entering the Gaza Strip with restrictive conditions and baseless reasons are the Israeli side," said Abu Zeid, who added that they condemn those who claim otherwise.
"Those who claim that the border is closed, listen to the statements made by the UN officials who visit the region", declared Abu Zeid.
He emphasized that from the statements of international officials, they can understand that the Egyptian side has fulfilled its responsibilities to ensure that humanitarian aid enters Gaza continuously.
