Erdogan scared? Opposition in Turkey prepares roadmap for resistance

The situation in Turkey remains chaotic and anger over the arrest of Ekrem Imamoglu remains unquenched. Thousands of citizens poured into the streets of Istanbul, Ankara and dozens of other major cities yesterday for the sixth consecutive night.

The Turkish president is afraid, said the leader of the Republican People's Party, Ozgur Ozel, who visited Imamoglu today in Silivri prison, where Tayyip Erdogan accuses the opposition, which he calls solely responsible for the violence.

Today, according to Ozgur Ozel, is the last night that the opposition will organize protest rallies in the square outside the courts that made the decision to arrest the mayor of Istanbul on Sunday morning.

Ozil is expected to announce the roadmap for “resistance.” The opposition has called on citizens to boycott products advertised in Turkey's pro-government media, to put pressure on them.

According to what has been made public, Özel is expected to explain exactly how the wave of protests in Turkey will evolve, given that the opposition's goal is to generalize them throughout Turkey.

The Republican Party, which represents the Kemalists, appears to be urging Erdogan to release Imamoglu before trial, broadcast it live on state channel TRT, and hold early elections.
