Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman has called on Iran to "avoid mistakes" after a series of missile and drone launches towards Saudi territory.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced earlier that air defense systems had intercepted several missiles aimed at an air base housing US military personnel, as well as neutralized drones targeting a large oil field.
According to Saudi authorities, at least two drone attacks targeting the Ras Tanura oil refinery have been reported this week.
Prince Khalid responded in a post on the X platform on Saturday, after a meeting with the Pakistani army chief. He stressed that such actions endanger security and stability in the region.
"We stressed that such actions undermine regional security and stability, and we hope that the Iranian side will show wisdom and avoid miscalculations ," he wrote.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense announced that a ballistic missile launched towards Prince Sultan Air Base, southeast of Riyadh, was intercepted by air defenses.
Saudi authorities also reported an attempted attack on the Shaybah oil field, while six drones were intercepted in the desert area known as the "Empty Quarter".
