French President Emmanuel Macron has called for the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran to include a halt to Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
Speaking on Wednesday before a meeting of the French defense council, Macron stressed that the situation in Lebanon is at a critical point. He criticized Israel's actions, stating that the attacks and intervention in southern Lebanon do not constitute an appropriate response to developments in the region.
According to Lebanese authorities, Israel has caused over 1,500 casualties in Lebanon since the escalation of the conflict linked to the Iran-backed war. These developments came after an attack by the Hezbollah group, which has expressed support for Iran.
Meanwhile, at the end of March, the Israeli Defense Minister stated that Israel intends to maintain control of the occupied territories in southern Lebanon.
