The US and the United Kingdom continued yesterday with attacks on the targets of the Houthi rebels in Yemen. British Foreign Secretary Cameron said the UK had "no choice" but to take military action against the Houthis.
In a comment in the Telegraph, Cameron described the attacks as "proportionate and lawful", reports SkyNews
Cameron said the UK had warned the Houthi rebels several times before joining the US-led offensive this week, while warning that prices would rise in the UK if the Houthis blocked important trade routes.
“ If the Houthis block shipping, vital supply chains are threatened and prices will rise in Britain and around the globe. We will work with allies. We will always defend freedom of navigation. And, most importantly, we will be prepared to back up our words with actions ," he said.
The pro-Hamas group has attacked ships in the Red Sea. Their attacks on cargo ships, some of which have no clear connection to Israel, have led major shipping companies to divert ships away from the Red Sea, instead taking a longer route around South Africa.
