Finnish President Alexander Stubb said the coalition ready for Ukraine has concluded that at least one European leader should talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The Coalition of the Willing agreed that at least one European leader should talk to Russia. France or Great Britain should be the ones to talk to Putin ," he said.
Earlier, Stubb said that European countries had raised the topic of restoring contacts with Russia at a Coalition of the Willing summit in Paris, adding that the dialogue should be coordinated between all parties. However, he did not give a date for a possible future talk, nor did he specify which of the European leaders intends to engage Putin in dialogue.
At the March 27 summit of the Coalition of the Willing, about 30 countries discussed possible security guarantees for Kiev after the end of the conflict in Ukraine. One of the main topics was the possible deployment of a military contingent in Ukraine. The United States did not attend this summit.
