A large number of citizens protested on Monday in the center of Belgrade, demanding the cancellation of the local elections held in the Serbian capital on December 17, which resulted in the victory of the party of President Aleksandar Vucic.
The opposition coalition "Serbia against violence" called this protest, as it claims that the victory of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) in power in Belgrade "is the result of election theft".
Serbian politician Nenad Čanak said in an interview for Euronews Albania that Vucic is a threat to the entire region as he is extending his power to Bosnia and Montenegro.
“Absolutely yes, I was expecting such a deep victory of Vucic. At this moment, Vučić is controlling not only all media in Serbia and all state resources, but also half of Bosnia, Republika Srpska and a good part of Montenegro. The granting of citizenship to many of his supporters outside Serbia led to several tens of thousands of people coming to vote in Serbia even though they do not live here. Combined with the weakness of the opposition, which did not offer a concrete alternative to the regime, it was predictable that nothing special would happen", said the Serbian politician.
