Thousands of Serbian citizens have gathered in front of the CEC building in Belgrade, together with several MPs from the opposition coalition, "Serbia Against Violence" and are protesting against the results of the elections held yesterday.
While a meeting was being held inside the CEC, the citizens outside tried to enter the building, but were stopped by the opposition MPs. Then, with the tension of the situation, a large number of police officers were deployed around the building to avoid incidents.
Then the opposition leaders Srgjan Milivojevic, Aleksandar Jovanovic Ćuta, Vladimir Obradovic, Pavle Grbovic, Borko Stefanovic entered the CEC facility, where they handed over the evidence of election manipulation and asked the CEC to declare them invalid. This is because the opposition claims that Vučić organized busloads of people from Republika Srpska to vote in Belgrade, which they say influenced the outcome of the elections. Added to this and many other irregularities.
After submitting the evidence, the opposition MPs were trapped inside the CEC building and announced a hunger strike. They have pledged to stay there, until the CEC makes the decision to repeat the elections.
On the other hand, the Serbian president, Aleksandër Vucic, rejected the accusations. He said that the opposition is making a general attack on citizens coming from Republika Srpska, who have the right to vote here in accordance with the laws.
“Based on the laws they passed in this country, not us, regarding dual citizenship. So they're starting a hunt against our people because I think they don't like those people, politically, even though it's certainly a small number of votes. To gain people's trust, you must show responsibility and seriousness in your work," said Vučič.
