France out of 'war game', Macron rejects intervention in Hormuz

French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that his country will not participate in military operations in the Strait of Hormuz in the current conditions of tensions in the Middle East.

During the Council of Ministers meeting, he emphasized that France is not a party to the conflict and therefore will not engage in military intervention at this stage.

"France is not a party to this conflict and, for this reason, will not participate in operations to open or liberate the Strait of Hormuz under the current conditions," Macron said.

The French president clarified that any possible involvement could only be considered after the end of hostilities, underlining that currently the priority remains avoiding escalation.

According to him, Paris is working to create an international alliance that will guarantee freedom of navigation in this strategic area once the situation stabilizes.

"If the clashes stop, France is ready to contribute to a naval escort mission in the Strait of Hormuz," Macron said.

He also stressed that such an operation would require coordination with regional actors, including Iran, and should be separate from the current conflict.

"Any future mission must be completely separate from the current conflict situation," the French president added.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a key point for global energy transport, while tensions in the region remain high.
