Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plane avoided France while en route to New York, while an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes is in effect, flight navigation data shows.
When he last traveled to the US in July, he was allowed to fly over France, even though the ICJ arrest warrant was in effect.
According to Al Jazeera, Italy and Greece again facilitated his flight, this time using their airspace.
Israeli broadcaster Kan quoted an anonymous diplomatic source as saying that France did not prevent Netanyahu's plane from entering its airspace and that the decision was Netanyahu's personal choice.
