19 billion euros blocked by the EU are ruining Victor Orbán's economic image...

Hungary's era of sustained economic growth under Viktor Orbán appears to be coming to an end. After more than a decade of positive economic numbers, reality is knocking on Budapest's doors, revealing serious structural weaknesses.

According to a recent analysis by The Economist, Hungary's economy is facing serious problems such as high inflation, economic slowdown and a significant decline in foreign investment. Economic forecasts for 2025 are worrying, with growth of only 0.8%, much lower compared to neighbors such as Poland (3.3%) and the Czech Republic (1.9%).

One of the main reasons for this situation is the loss of support from German businesses, which are already withdrawing investments, plunging the country into a vicious economic cycle. The automotive industry, on which Hungary's exports largely depend, is facing US tariffs and weakness in the German market, directly hitting employment and economic well-being.

Hungary is also facing a critical shortfall of 19 billion euros in European funds, blocked by the European Union due to concerns about the rule of law and corruption. This has fueled popular discontent and large-scale protests, which could be reflected in the upcoming elections in 2026.

In this context, the Hungarian opposition, led by Peter Magyar of the Tisza party, is gaining political ground with the promise of releasing European funds and restoring active cooperation with the EU.

At a key moment for Hungary's future, economic policy and strategic orientation towards Europe are becoming decisive factors in the upcoming electoral battle.

Meanwhile, current leader Viktor Orbán is trying to compensate for the loss of Western support with Chinese investment, but these efforts are far from sufficient to restore economic and political stability.

The upcoming elections will be a clear test of whether Hungarians will choose to continue the Orbán model or take the path towards a new policy, prioritizing economic stability and European integration./ Pamphlet
