Gaza burns under Israeli tanks, ground offensive turns city into ruins

Israeli ground offensive brings mass casualties and accusations of genocide...

Israel has launched a major ground offensive in Gaza City, moving from aerial bombardment to tank and ground operations in the heart of the Palestinian enclave. Tel Aviv justifies the intervention as an “operation to destroy Hamas and free hostages,” but the facts on the ground show a humanitarian catastrophe that is escalating by the hour.

Columns of Israeli tanks and troops have penetrated the main neighborhoods of the city, paving the way for massive bombardments that have destroyed buildings, hospitals and civilian infrastructure. Palestinian civilians are trying to flee to southern Gaza, mainly in al-Mawasi, where the situation is unbearable: lack of food, water and medicine, overwhelmed hospitals and overcrowded camps. Many families are trapped under the rubble, while others have no safe way to leave.

The United Nations has reacted sharply, calling on Israel to immediately halt the offensive and warning of flagrant human rights violations that could amount to war crimes and even genocide. The allegations are stark: deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure, mass killings of civilians and forced displacement. Israel has denied these accusations, insisting that any strikes are directed against Hamas.

From Washington, political support for Israel continues, despite growing criticism of the scale of the destruction and civilian casualties. European countries are divided between those calling for an immediate end to the attacks and those remaining silent, leaving the diplomatic scene in a chaos similar to the ground in Gaza itself.

The death toll is rising rapidly. Hospitals have become scenes of despair, with doctors without supplies dealing with incurable wounds and patients dying from lack of oxygen and electricity. Meanwhile, the threat of mass starvation is becoming a reality – experts warn that Gaza is heading towards a new humanitarian catastrophe, with children the most vulnerable victims.

As Israeli tanks advance into the heart of the city, Gaza is becoming a symbol of the international community's powerlessness to stop a conflict that has assumed genocidal dimensions. If this offensive continues, the danger is not limited to the complete destruction of Gaza - but to the lighting of a new flame throughout the Middle East. /Pamphlet
