President Donald Trump has praised King Charles and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer as he spoke to reporters at the White House before departing for the United Kingdom.
He said that the King is his friend and it is the first time that someone has been honored with a state visit twice.
"So it was a great honour. I don't want to say one is better than the other, but they say Windsor Castle is the best," he adds, saying the visit is taking place at Windsor and not Buckingham Palace.
He added that the UK government wants to improve the trade deal and added they reached a great deal. Trump stressed that his visit is "primarily" to meet the King and Queen.
"They've been friends of mine for a long time, long before he became King, and it's an honor to have him as King. I think he represents the country so well, I've seen him, he's such an elegant gentleman ," he said.
