The Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the Bundestag, Michael Roth, has said that Europe is fantasizing about the US elections, but says that even if Joe Biden stays in the White House, he will demand more responsibility from Europe for the security of her, Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans.
He says that if Donald Trump returns to power, Europe can be mostly only in the field of security.

Since the EU will soon be in election campaign mode, France, Poland and Germany should take the initiative for a strategic concept that takes into account all scenarios. He says this is why the EU "must finally join forces for a free Ukraine and against Russian imperialism: more defence, massive increase in military support for Ukraine, Marshall Plan for reconstruction, more EU engagement (political + economic) in the Western Balkans".
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
