Greece is engulfed in a general strike today, in honor of the 57 victims who lost their lives 2 years ago in the collision of 2 trains in Tempe.
Public and private sector employees have walked off the job and organized rallies in all cities of Greece. According to Greek media, a total of 244 union rallies have been announced in Greek cities for today.

Thessaloniki is also "present" at the large rally planned for the second anniversary of the Tempi tragedy. Citizens released dozens of black balloons into the sky as a sign of mourning for the victims of the Tempi tragedy.
Protests have not only been organized in the main cities of Greece, but citizens of small towns and islands such as Mykonos, Nafplio, Rhodes, etc. have also shown solidarity.

The strike has also included part of Greek customs, where work at the border crossing points of Kakavija, Qafë Botë and 3 Urat has been suspended from 7 am and will continue until 11 pm local time.
At these border points, traffic will be allowed for ambulances and funeral vehicles, while in Kakavija, pedestrian movement will also be allowed.
