Revenge of Greece? Former Prime Minister Samaras raises concern: Albanian

The former Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras has raised the concern today in the Parliament regarding the work permit for Albanian immigrants.

He stated that the Greek government should provide a solution to facilitate the renewal of work permits for immigrants. The deputy stated that the lack of workers, citing Albanian immigrants, is jeopardizing the olive harvest.

"Albanians who came here and worked for some reason had their permit expire and for some reason did not arrive, it was not renewed.

The vast majority of those who came illegally leave Greece. We will present the data showing that 65,000 have arrived and at the same time 110,000 have received passports and left. There is a lot of talk about immigration, careers are built on this issue and careers are being built today in Europe.

Each greenhouse needs one worker per hectare. We need 30 thousand workers. Others say that there is a risk that the olives will not be harvested and we will lose 1-1.5 billion euros from the total value of olive oil of 3 billion euros", said Samaras in the plenary session.

This situation comes at a time when Albania-Greece relations are tense and the question arises, is this a revenge?
