A video posted on social media shows dozens of people rushing to leave a residential area in Doha after debris from an Iranian missile fell near homes.
According to Al Jazeera, the incident occurred after Iran attempted to strike the Al Udeid air base, where US forces are stationed. Qatari authorities activated the air defense system, which managed to shoot down the missile before it hit its target.
After air defenses intervened, parts of the rocket fell in a residential area of the capital. Footage shows citizens running to leave the scene, but there are no confirmed reports of casualties or major material damage.
Al Jazeera reports that Al Udeid base is one of the main US military installations in the region and plays a significant role in US operations in the Middle East. Authorities have not yet released a detailed statement on the full circumstances of the incident.
