Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused the UN Security Council of failing to pass a resolution for a humanitarian pause in the Gaza war.
Erdogan added that Turkish efforts to bring calm to the region have been hampered by "collective punishment" of Palestinians through airstrikes and the deployment of US aircraft carriers in the region.
" The United Nations Security Council, which has become even more ineffective, has once again failed to fulfill its responsibility. Western countries - which leave no stone unturned when it comes to human rights and freedoms - have taken no other step than adding fuel to the fire ," he said.
Erdogan also criticized the "one-sided and two-faced" media coverage of the conflict.
