
A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale was recorded on Sunday evening in Turkey, with the epicenter in Balikesir province, while the focal depth was 11 kilometers.
After this earthquake, three more aftershocks were recorded with magnitudes of 4.6, 4.1, and 4 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was felt mainly in Istanbul, but also on islands in the eastern Aegean and the Sea of Marmara. The earthquake was particularly felt in Mytilene, disturbing residents and visitors.
At least 10 buildings collapsed in the strong earthquake, four rescue operations were carried out, while two people are trapped in the rubble.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, no injuries have been reported so far.
