The Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC/Pasdaran) Aerospace Forces, Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Mousavi, has announced a significant change in Iran's missile attack doctrine, announcing that from now on Tehran will no longer launch missiles with warheads weighing less than one ton.
Mousavi added that "the wavelength of the launches, the intensity of the wave and the range of action will become wider," signaling a noticeable increase in the frequency, scale and geographical scope of missile attacks.
According to Israeli and American estimates, Iran has suffered heavy losses in the number of missile launchers (around 100-200 remaining) and missile stockpile, with Iranian ballistic attacks having dropped by up to 90% compared to the start of the conflict.
Mousavi's statement is seen as an attempt to demonstrate strength and determination, moving towards the exclusive use of heavier and more destructive warheads, a move that could significantly increase the potential damage to military and civilian targets in the event of new attacks.
In parallel, Iran has continued waves of missile and drone attacks under the name "True Promise 4", targeting Israeli and American bases and installations in the region.
Israeli and American officials have not yet officially commented on today's statement, but it adds to tensions in a conflict that has already caused major destruction to Iranian infrastructure and led to evacuations of military bases in the Middle East.
