A missile fired from Iran hit an area near an air base in the United Arab Emirates where Australian soldiers are stationed, causing a fire and damage to several structures.
According to international media reports, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed the event.
The rocket fell on a road near Al Minhad air base, where more than 100 Australian troops are stationed. The explosion damaged medical facilities and residential areas within the complex, while part of the area was engulfed in flames.
Australian authorities say no soldiers were injured. Albanese said he condemns Iran's actions.
The development comes at a time of heightened tension in the Middle East, where clashes between Iran and its regional adversaries have intensified. International reports speak of an increase in missile and drone attacks in several areas, while various military actors have been involved in successive incidents.
