Iranians want negotiations with the US, but an atmosphere of mistrust still

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran has held telephone conversations with his counterparts in various countries in the region and beyond, signaling Tehran's willingness to enter into further rounds of negotiations.

According to Iranian sources, the country is interested in continuing the dialogue, but two to three main issues still remain open and require concrete solutions.

" There is a deep cloud of mistrust on both sides. This makes it difficult to believe that a new agreement can bring about a lasting peace and completely remove the threat of a new war ," said a source close to the negotiating process.

On the streets of Tehran and other Iranian cities, public sentiment is mixed. There is some hope, but it is limited and fragile. Many Iranians, tired of long-standing tensions, hope that new negotiations could pave the way for a gradual lifting of economic sanctions that have weighed on the country for years.

The 40-day war that recently ended left deep scars on Iranian society. Tens of thousands of homes, apartments, schools, and infrastructure facilities were damaged or completely destroyed. The attacks directly affected the lives of ordinary citizens, creating a heavy psychological and material pressure on the population.

Diplomatic sources say that the success of any new round of negotiations will depend on the willingness of both sides to make real compromises on key issues that remain pending.
