Being loyal. It seems that this is now the main quality for being part of Donald Trump's circle. And yesterday, the president of the United States rewarded the loyalty of lawyer and former ambassador Lindsey Halligan, 35, by placing her in a key role in the US judicial administration, replacing the ousted Erik Siebert, whom Donald Trump described as disloyal.
The announcement, as usual, came from his social network Truth: "It is an honor for me to appoint Lindsey Halligan as United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Lindsey is a strong, intelligent, and loyal attorney who has worked with me in the victorious fight against the political use of our judicial system by corrupt Joe Biden." Trump assured that Lindsey "is courageous and will have the determination to be extremely brilliant.
A surprise appointment, given Halligan's resume, which includes no experience in the role she was chosen for, having always dealt with insurance matters. The lawyer entered the "Trumpian orbit" after being part of the legal team that represented the president after the raid on his Mar-a-Lago resort, Florida, where classified documents were sought. Halligan also worked on the lawsuit that Trump filed against CNN, when the well-known media outlet compared him to Hitler, reports Corriera Della Sera.
Most recently, she has been at the forefront of removing what the administration claims is “inappropriate ideology” from the Smithsonian Institution, a private but federally funded foundation. Trump has given the national museum 120 days to remove “corrosive ideologies and cultures, restoring truth and reason to the narrative of American history.” Put simply: remove references to racism. In an interview, the lawyer commented, “What I noticed when I visited the Smithsonian was the overemphasis on slavery. It was certainly a terrible thing, but it’s not talked about honestly if it doesn’t also offer hope.”
Raised in Colorado, she studied politics and journalism. She has competed in Miss Colorado twice: in 2009 she came second and in 2010, third. The lawyer said: “Sports and beauty pageants have taught me how to handle stress: on stage or in the White House.”
