Israeli President Isaac Herzog has stated that Israel is ready for another humanitarian pause to enable the release of hostages held by Hamas.
In a press conference, Isaac Herzog added that Israel is fighting Hamsa and not the people who are in Gaza.
“It is really important for us to reiterate, we are not fighting the people of Gaza. They are not our enemies. We are fighting Hamas, they are the enemy. And in this regard, we are taking all possible humanitarian steps according to international humanitarian law", he said.
He further claimed that Israel was making great efforts to increase humanitarian aid and attacked the UN, calling its efforts a "failure".
"For the last two weeks there has been a failure largely by the United Nations and other partners to get trucks into Gaza - only about 125 or 100 trucks a day. You could easily triple the amount of trucks if there was only an effort from the United Nations and its partners. The world needs to know that you could have had tens of thousands more tons a day going to Gaza", he said.
