Israel reports that its army has killed another senior exponent of the Hamas organization in Gaza.
In the latest reaction, the army informs that the Minister of Economy of Hamas, Abdel-Zarii, was killed in an air strike in Gaza, during Sunday.
Abdel-Zarii is a senior official who had a key position in managing humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, but also in monitoring markets controlled by Islamic militants.
Also, he was responsible for the distribution of fuel, gas and funds for terrorist operations against Israel.
According to the IDF, the weapons production headquarters in Gaza had long been working to strengthen military capabilities, sharing information with other terrorist organizations in the Middle East.
Last week, Hamas leader Ismail Hanyeh was killed in Iran in an attack allegedly planned by Israel, while a senior Hezbollah commander was also killed in Lebanon earlier.
Meanwhile, Iran has vowed "severe" retaliation against Israel, which it blames for the death of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on Wednesday.
His killing came hours after Israel killed senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut. Western officials fear that Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militia and political movement based in Lebanon, could play a key role in any such retaliation, which in turn could trigger a serious Israeli response.
Diplomatic efforts by the US and other Western countries continue to be high to reduce tensions across the region. A growing number of flights have been canceled or suspended at the country's only commercial airport in Beirut.
The US, UK, Australia, France, Canada, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Turkey and Jordan are among the countries that have asked their citizens to leave Lebanon as soon as possible.
Fears of an escalation of hostilities that could involve Lebanon have been at their height since Hezbollah launched its attacks on Israel, a day after Hamas' deadly attacks in southern Israel on October 7 in support of Palestinians in Gaza.
