Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz called on Gaza residents to evacuate urban areas as soon as possible, adding that this was the final warning. Katz added that anyone who remained in Gaza would be considered a terrorist and a supporter of terrorism.
"Those who remain will face continued IDF operations in full force. The IDF has completed in recent hours the capture of the Netzarim axis all the way to the Gaza coast, effectively dividing Gaza between north and south. This tightens the siege around Gaza City, and anyone leaving it in the south direction will have to pass through IDF inspection checkpoints," he said.
Israel has launched a new assault on Gaza City, despite widespread calls to halt its offensive. The IDF has demolished high-rise buildings and bombarded the area with airstrikes, approaching from the outskirts, towards what it considers Hamas' last bastion in Gaza.
