Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Europe is currently in the preparatory phase for war with Russia. Orban argues that the EU is increasingly drawn into the armed conflict in Ukraine.
He says that every week he sees more signs that the EU and NATO are preparing for military action.
The Prime Minister emphasized that going to war does not happen in one step. Orban says there are three phases: discussion, preparation and destruction.
"Now we are finishing the discussion and we are in the preparation phase. We are inches away from destruction," he added.
Despite widespread EU condemnation and opposition to Russia's invasion, Orban has sought to strengthen bilateral relations with Moscow.
He has opposed many EU initiatives to support Ukraine in resisting Moscow's forces, while posing for photos with Putin in October.
Orban was the only Western leader to congratulate Putin on his re-election, despite some EU ministers calling the vote a fraud.
