"I have received death threats," Netanyahu, afraid of protests in

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharply criticized the police on Wednesday for their failure to manage mass protests near his Jerusalem residence.

Netanyahu accused some demonstrators of acting like fascist militias and added that he has received death threats during these protests.

"Some people who are here are acting like a fascist militia. Just to show you the seriousness of the situation: they have threatened me with death. We cannot allow this to continue ," Netanyahu told reporters.

Tens of thousands of citizens took to the streets of Jerusalem to demand a deal for the release of the hostages, an issue that has caused great political and social tension in the country. The protesters, including families of the hostages and civil rights activists, have demanded immediate action from the government to ensure a humanitarian solution. Netanyahu criticizes the way law enforcement is handling the protests.

"The police are not acting with the necessary severity to prevent violence and threats against me. The situation has crossed the boundaries of democratic protest ," he said.

His criticism followed a wave of tension in Jerusalem, where police are struggling to maintain order without escalating violence. The incident comes as the government faces mounting public and international pressure to negotiate the hostage situation and manage social tensions in the country.
