The suspension of all arms shipments to Ukraine during the ceasefire appears to be a condition that Putin is imposing to accept the ceasefire that Washington agreed to with Kiev in Saudi Arabia.
Specifically, according to a Bloomberg report, citing a senior European official, the Russian leader, who met with a Trump envoy last week, has made the cessation of arms supplies a condition for signing the ceasefire.
It is noted that Russia's goal is to stop arms shipments from all countries to Ukraine. However, it seems that only American aid will be cut off.
The senior European official added that Europe was extremely reluctant to agree to Russia's demand to block arms shipments to Ukraine from its allies.
The reason is that such a move is dangerous for Ukraine, as Russia could rearm during the ceasefire, while Ukraine would be hindered, the same official added.
This information comes after Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will have a telephone conversation to discuss resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
In fact, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that there is already "some understanding" between the two leaders, based on the phone conversation they had on February 12 and subsequent high-level contacts between the two countries.
"But there are also a large number of questions regarding the further normalization of our bilateral relations and the settlement in Ukraine. And all this should be discussed by the two presidents," Peskov told reporters.
