A judge in Italy was threatened this weekend when she found a bloody goat's head with a blade stuck in it outside her front door.
The threat was made to the judge of preliminary investigations of the court of Lecce, Maria Francesca Mariano, who has already been subject to threats before.
"Thus", was written on a 'push' placed next to the animal's head, which was found on Friday at the door of the magistrate, reports the newspaper Nuovo di Puglia. The head was placed at the top of the stairs, in front of the door.
After the event, the committee of order and public safety in the prefecture was urgently convened.
According to the Italian media, Mariano performs the function of judge of preliminary investigations and was a member of the Court of Assisi of Lecce.
Even earlier, the judge received threatening letters in the office. The incident is suspected to be related to investigations that led to the anti-mafia operation in which 22 people from the Lamendola-Cantanna clan believed to be part of the Sacra Corona Unita were arrested on July 17. Along with Judge Mariano, due to the threats received, protection was also assigned to Prosecutor Ruggiero.
