The Wagner mercenary group led by Yevgeny Prigozhin has received over 17.5 billion euros (about 17 trillion rubles) from the Russian state.
It is learned that this money is divided into government contracts (860 billion rubles) and services provided by Holding Concord (845 billion rubles). The news was announced by Russian TV presenter Dmitry Kiselev during a broadcast on the Rossiya 1 channel.
"The private military company Wagner, founded by Yevgeny Prigozhin, received a little more than 858 billion rubles in contracts with the state. This is less than a trillion. According to other contracts, Concord Holding Prigozhin provided services for 845 billion rubles. This is not it means that they earned so much, but it still shows the scale of the business and the scale of ambitions," said Kiselev.
Earlier this week, President Vladimir Putin announced that Russian authorities would investigate Concord Holding's earnings, adding that, over the past year, Wagner had received a total of 86 billion rubles (about one billion euros) from the state, a a figure that seems lower than the one reported by Kiselev.
