During the presentation in parliament of his new government's program, Prime Minister Vucevic promised the continuation of close relations with Albania, even though, as he said, the two countries may never agree on the status of Kosovo.
"Albania is a country with which we managed to advance relations more than ever before, even in the circumstances created through the Open Balkans project. We wish to continue to maintain this level of close relations between us in the coming years. I know that Albania and Serbia will probably never agree between themselves when it comes to the status of Kosovo, but I also believe that we can have common interests when topics of regional importance that concern both our countries equally come up. "
Vučević said that he has no intention of imposing sanctions on Russia, even though for him full membership in the EU remains a strategic objective. Meanwhile, the US Department of State expressed its displeasure that two unwanted Washingtonians are part of the new government.
"The United States has no role in the decisions of the government of Serbia. We are disappointed to see two sanctioned persons nominated for positions in the new government. Our position on Vulini is known. He remains under US sanctions."
President Vučić said that he was not happy with the reaction of the US Department of State regarding the appointment as part of the new government of Aleksandar Vulin and Nenad Popović, who are under sanctions from the United States of America, but according to him, the government of Serbia is elected by the citizens of Serbia.
