The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, has reacted regarding Wagner's uprising, which he calls an internal issue of Russia.
During the meeting with the Lithuanian president Gitanas Nauseda, Stoltenberg also stated that the summit attended by the leaders of 31 allied countries will approve the long-term aid package for Ukraine, which is fighting against Russia.
"We will strengthen our political ties with Ukraine. The decisions that will be taken will bring Ukraine closer to the alliance, because the country of Ukraine belongs to NATO. "All allies believe that NATO's doors are open and that Ukraine will be a member," Stoltenberg said.
Stoltenberg also said that they are closely following the events in Belarus.
"We don't see any indication that Russia will use nuclear weapons ," Stoltenberg said, stressing that they will continue to be vigilant.
The NATO Secretary General went on to say that steps will be taken at the summit in Vilnius for new NATO regional security plans. Regarding these plans, more than 300,000 troops will be on high alert and will be supported by naval and air elements.
