To the sounds of the song "Amazing Grace," the memorial ceremony for activist Charlie Kirk began shortly after 8 p.m. at State Farm Stadium.
The stadium is packed. More than 200,000 people are on hand to pay their final respects to Charlie Kirk, who was killed on September 10th during the "Prove Me Wrong Table" event at Utah Valley University when he was shot with a sniper rifle by Tyler Robinson.
Despite the fact that it was a memorial service, the atmosphere at State Farm Stadium is anything but somber. Participants are mostly wearing the national colors of red, white and blue, as requested by the organizers. Black is almost nonexistent.
The crowd gathered included a wide range of ages, from teenagers to the elderly, while many families brought their children with them.

Among the thousands of people attending Charlie Kirk's funeral was Elon Musk.
"Every seat in this stadium that isn't blocked by security is full. I'm honored to be here," Musk wrote on X.
Meanwhile, Steve Bannon hosted his "WarRoom" show from State Farm Stadium.
Musk and Kirk had played prominent roles in Donald Trump's election campaign and the early months of his administration, but the tech mogul had not appeared at public events with the president since their explosive split last June.
