The attack targets infrastructure that Tehran says supports the military and intelligence activities of Iran's adversaries in the region.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps carried out a drone attack on an Amazon data center in Bahrain, the state-affiliated Iranian news agency Fars News reported.
According to the report, the operation aimed to identify how these data centers are used to support the military and intelligence activities of Iran's adversaries.
Amazon Web Services, the company's cloud services division, said a drone struck near one of its facilities in Bahrain and caused physical damage to infrastructure.
The company announced that the attack damaged installation structures and disrupted the power supply to part of its technological infrastructure.
According to AWS, the damages include power distribution problems and firefighting interventions that in some cases also caused additional water damage to equipment.
Iranian media reports say the attack is part of a recent series of Revolutionary Guard operations against Amazon data centers in the region, including facilities in Dubai and other strategic locations in the Middle East.
