A map showing Russian targets in the US has resurfaced following claims from the Kremlin that a third world war could break out.
The Kremlin's rhetoric is becoming increasingly dangerous. Russian officials have significantly increased their tone and warnings to the West, making public alleged plans for a nuclear confrontation with the United States and the United Kingdom. Moscow no longer hides the fact that it has drawn up strategic objectives in the event of a general global war, and by all indications, this is no longer just a propaganda scenario.
One of the most prominent hard-line voices in Russia, former Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, has published a list of 23 British facilities that, according to him, would be the first to be hit if Russia decides to respond with nuclear weapons. These are weapons production centers, military bases and defense infrastructure structures.
But the threat doesn't stop in Britain. Scenarios that have been circulating in Russian media for years also include targets in the US: high-profile buildings like the Pentagon, the presidential retreat at Camp David, closed military bases, and strategic communications centers. They are presented as potential strike points within minutes, by Russian hypersonic missiles.
Russia sees itself surrounded by a Western circle that it says has crossed all limits with its support for Ukraine, NATO expansion, and numerous economic sanctions. In this climate of tension, the map of objectives is not simply an imaginary message, but a demonstration of the Kremlin's willingness to escalate the situation if it deems it necessary.
Essentially, it is a war of nerves. Russia is trying to project fear, create panic, and impose a status quo through nuclear threat. But this tactic brings with it another dangerous reality: the normalization of the discourse on nuclear war and the blurring of international red lines.
